NPLs Data Scientist
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled NPLs Data Scientist to join our Analytical Team and play a key role in driving measurable business impact. This position focuses on transforming high-quality, trusted data into advanced analytical models and actionable insights that directly improve collection strategies, optimise agent performance, and maximise recovery rates.

Key Responsibilities
Advanced Analytics & Decisioning
Analyse portfolio behaviour to identify key performance drivers and design advanced segmentation strategies that optimise contact cadence, channel mix, and agent routing
Develop, implement, and maintain advanced analytical decision engines to prioritise accounts and dynamically optimise collection strategies
Continuously monitor and improve analytical strategies to maximise recovery performance
Lead A/B testing and multivariate experiments to measure strategy impact, quantify uplift, and guide rollouts and ongoing optimisation
Partner closely with Operations, IT, and Compliance to ensure strategies are correctly implemented, monitored, documented, and governed throughout their lifecycle
Document analytical methodologies, insights, and best practices, contributing to a centralised knowledge base that supports organisational learning
Data Quality & Governance
Perform data validation and quality assessments across collections, legal, payments, and forecasting datasets
Design and implement data quality controls for critical data elements, promoting automation where possible
Define, document, and enforce data quality rules, including data definitions, dictionaries, and lineage documentation to ensure transparency, consistency, and auditability
Must-Have Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field
Strong background in advanced analytics, including segmentation, optimisation, and predictive modelling
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a business-oriented mindset
Proficiency in Excel and SQL
Advanced English communication skills
Highly motivated, open-minded, and a strong team player
Nice-to-Have
Experience with Python or similar analytical tools
Exposure to decision engines, analytical models, or rule-based decision logic
Experience in collections, credit risk, or NPL environments (preferred but not mandatory)
